Firefox 124 is Released! Come With macOS and Android Improvements

Mozilla Firefox continues its rapid update cycle with the release of Firefox 124, delivering a host of improvements for both Android and Mac users. While there are no major interface overhauls in this update, numerous smaller enhancements promise to elevate the browsing experience across platforms.

Android Enhancements:

  • Pull-to-refresh functionality is now enabled by default, offering a more robust browsing experience.
  • Support for drag-and-drop actions within web pages, particularly useful for tablets or foldables in split-screen mode. Users can seamlessly drag text from notes apps into Firefox text fields.

Mac-specific Improvements:

  • Firefox on Mac now utilizes the native macOS full-screen API for all full-screen windows, enhancing the user experience by aligning with macOS standards. Full-screen videos now appear as separate spaces in the Mission Control view, similar to other browsers like Safari.

Additional Highlights:

  • Introduction of caret browsing for PDFs, mirroring cursor navigation in text editors, enhancing accessibility.
  • Firefox 124 follows closely on the heels of the February Firefox 123 update, which introduced features like search in Firefox View and improved rendering on various platforms.
  • Mozilla is testing a revamped screenshot tool, expected to roll out in Firefox 125.

How to Update Firefox:

  • Firefox will automatically install updates when available. To manually check for updates, click the menu icon in the browser toolbar and select "About Firefox."
  • Alternatively, Firefox can be downloaded from Mozilla's official website, as well as app stores for Android, iOS, and Windows.

As Mozilla continues its commitment to regular updates, Firefox users can expect a steady stream of improvements aimed at enhancing performance, security, and user experience across devices.
