The Budget Smartphone Galaxy A35 Arrives in the US, Receives 5-Year Security Updates

Samsung has recently unveiled its latest budget-friendly smartphone, the Galaxy A35, in the United States. This phone is now available for purchase through Samsung's online store as an unlocked device. Priced at $400, customers can also avail discounts of up to $150 by trading in eligible devices. Additionally, there's an optional 30% discount offer for Galaxy Buds FE when purchasing the Galaxy A35, bringing down the price of these wireless earbuds from $100 to $70.

The Galaxy A35 offers quite enticing specifications for a budget phone. It features a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 128GB of internal storage, 6GB of RAM, a 5,000mAh battery, and IP67 water and dust protection. Moreover, the phone sports four cameras, including a 50MP main lens with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro lens, and a 13MP front-facing camera. While Samsung hasn't specified the chipset used in this phone, it's likely to be powered by the Exynos 1380, similar to the previous international models.

Running on Android 14 operating system with One UI 6.1 interface, the phone will receive Android OS updates for four generations and security updates for five years. This means the Galaxy A35 will receive updates up to Android 18 and critical security updates until around 2029.

Interestingly, the Galaxy A35 marks the first official release of the Galaxy A30 series in the United States in several years. The Galaxy A32 5G was previously introduced in the US in 2021 priced at $280, but Samsung skipped the US release for A33 and A34. With a price tag of $400, the Galaxy A35 signifies a significant price increase. However, Samsung also offers other budget phone options in the US, such as the Galaxy A25 5G priced at $300 and the Galaxy A15 5G priced at $200.

Samsung has previously confirmed that the Galaxy A55 will not be released in the United States. This makes the Galaxy A35 the most premium mid-range phone in the US, with the Galaxy S23 FE priced at $600 as the next step up.

The Galaxy A35 is currently available in "Awesome Lilac" and "Awesome Navy" colors with a single 128GB internal storage option. So, for those interested in owning an affordable phone that still offers enticing specifications, the Galaxy A35 could be the right choice.

With Samsung's offer of five years of security updates, the Galaxy A35 promises a secure and guaranteed user experience for a considerable period. Hopefully, this information proves useful to those in search of a new phone within a budget.
